The Backlight on display turns off ocassionally how do I fix it?

I already replaced the inverter and the inverter cable. My back light still turns off from time to time. Moving the the lid seems to have an affect on it. What else could it be?

mikeegomes, this "Moving the the lid seems to have an affect " usually means a bad cable. Check to make sure yours is properly connected.

properly connected to the logic board but ALSO to the inverter board in the macbook display. Check also the connection from the LCD to the other side of the inverter board.

Cracked or failing connector/cable damage.

Only the mark one eyeball and a magnifying glass can find/tell what the issue is. If it's a cracked connector or solder joint take it to a professional who solders/repairs logic boards for a living. DIY soldering of logic boards requires special tools, solder, and lots and lots of practice so as to not destroy boards with too much heat.

The data display cable could be bare/pinched in the clutch since you say moving the lid (twisting/pinching) the cable causes the issue. You may be able to correct the routing, use a dab of silicone or some electricians tape to shield the damaged cable.... else replace the cable.
