Nokia Lumia 820 LCD replacement, which glue and copper foil?

I (perhaps foolishly) volunteered to replace the LCD on my friends' Lumia 820. I did some research beforehand but failed to notice that the LCD in the phone is glued to a metal plate with a layer of copper foil in between. The replacement LCD I bought does not include the plate or foil.

You can see what I mean in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFz3-Hh9...

I wasn't as successful as the guy in the video and completely destroyed the copper foil.

So what I need to know is:

What can I replace the copper foil with? There's lots online but I don't know if I need something special.

What glue should I use to glue the LCD, copper foil and metal plate back together? The research I've done suggests silicone based glue but I don't know which one.

Thanks.

Hello James, Tough luck :/ sorry for you,

I am not 100% sure but I think it would be ok to just put them back together, but at least using a double tape in between,

Otherwise you could purchase for around 10$ the whole plate with this famous copper layer Found this here --> http://www.ebay.com/itm/Housing-LCD-beze...

Or here ---> http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-nokia-lu...

I would use glue because its easyer to apply, using a silicone based glue should be more than enough for this method, for the first one without this copper foil I would try a double side tape.

Cheers, I would pay 8 bucks and do the second, now its up to you.
