Home button was replaced, now the phone has a blank screen!

My phone worked perfectly fine (other than a non responsive home button). I used ifix it to guide me through how to change the button, followed everything step by step but now the screen is blank almost as if the phone is turned off. Plugged phone in to charge and the phone makes the "charging" noise every 15 seconds... What have I done wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you
