How to check if my airport card is dead?

My airpot logo on top right of computer says duddenly no AirPort card installed.

How can I check if it's still working?

If it is dead how can I replace it?

I would start off by opening the system and checking the ribbon cable from the logic boar to the AirPort Card. Follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Air Models A1237 and A1304 AirPort/Bluetooth Board Replacement. If you find the cable is fully seated in both connectors. Do a good visual inspection looking for any nicks or cuts in the cable as well as any liquid damage.

If nothing shows up in your inspection I would try swapping parts out start with the AirPort card and then the ribbon cable.
