What is the cable that is attached to bottom case?

Hi,

I've just removed the bottom case of my MacBook Pro to replace the battery and found that it (the bottom case) is attached by a cable. I can't find any reference to this cable in any repair guides.

Does anyone know what it is please?

This cable is attached to the inside of the bottom case. I found it when I opened the Mac to replace the battery. Can I add a picture to my question to help identify it?

Did you click on the Blue URL's below? There you will see images of the two cables. Is it not one of these? Maybe you have a different model than what you have selected here MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2010. If this is the case why don't you post an answer below with your image (click on the blue square on the answer menu ribbon to add it). You may want to also give us the last four digits of your serial number to confirm your system.

OK, the mystery is solved! The is no "cable attached to the bottom case". The cable in question was the video cable coming out of the hinge assembly and attached to the logic board by a horizontal push-in connector.

A previous re-attachment of a plastic foot on the back left corner had allowed some glue through and loosely attached the cable to the base bottom plate.

As I removed the bottom plate by tilting it away from the body, this separated the cable from its connector. Freeing the cable from the glue and reconnecting it put everything back as it should be.

Dan, thank you very much for patience and help with this question.

Just so were clear here your bottom reference is the inside of the upper case - Correct.

The ribbon cable I think you are speaking about is the Trackpad. On the other side is the Hard Drive/IR sensor cable
