Display White or Stripe Screen on the right side of the display

What may the Cause of this stripes or white screen? The repairman wanted to change the complete display but I think this might just be a connection or a broken cable as my MacBook travels. Does anyone have an experience with this trouble ?

I have the same problem now. Sometime I can tilt the screen back/forth and find an angle that will make the full display come back, sometime I can't. Frustrating. I think it's due to connection problem.
