Why is the screen black, but the phone is still working?

The other day, I dropped my phone, I thought it was fine, but when I tried to turn it on, nothing happened. Now I know that my phone is on and working, because I can it vibrates when I switch the mute button, but the screen is completely black. I know that I should try restarting it, but the 'home' button is broken. Is there any other way to restart it?

Btw, I haven't ever broken it before, or had any repairs.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi Nicole,

It sounds like your LCD has either been broken of the cable has become loose.

I would try to re connect the cable and if that doesn't work I would simply replace the LCD!

Hope this helps!

Before trying the steps Donley mention first try a hard reset - to do this hold both the power button and the home button (the phone will switch off) keep holding until apple logo appears on the screen.

If the ape logo does not come on the screen then follow donley suggestion.
