Dead MBP, Swop SSD to another MBP Question

Hello everyone,

My mbp is dead from water damage.

I wanted to know if i take the flash storage (SSD) out, can i simply swop this SSD to a new/used late 2013 macbook?

If i can, will my programs like photoshop, final cut pro, word etc show as well as photos, downloads and so on? I presume it is all kept on the SSD.

Any help appreciated here, thanks.

Like for like systems will be OK.

They must be the same series as Apple has different SSD's between the different series.

Make sure you fully shutdown your system & disconnect the battery before swap the SSD. Also make sure the SSD is not damaged from being wet, you may need to clean it with some isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.

OWC may make an external enclosure for your SSD. They are called the Envoy series.
