Battery draining, service battery on and off.

Hi guys,

Currently my battery keeps issuing on and off the 'service battery' warning.

I've been receiving this warning on and off for the last 4-5 days. Iv'e taken it to my local mac shop and they did some quick diagnostics and reset the SMC.

In the shop it displayed 6-8 hours after a quick use of chrome. It seemed that all was well.

Currently I am using it now for the last 40 minutes and I am already down to 44%. it is telling I have 39 minutes for the last 44%, when all I am is doing is browsing reddit and watching some youtube.

Battery health is at 79% and my mac is on cycle 399. I calibrated it before taking it to the mac shop.

Is my battery on the way out? Should I bother resetting the SMC again? Is there anything else I can try before I have to consider getting a replacement battery?

Thanks! Jack

Have you gotten your system wet at some point? Or, banged it so there is a dent some where on the bottom cover?

You may want to open the bottom cover and inspect things. Is the battery swollen at all? Be careful not to scratch things up.

I would bring your system into an Apple Store if you can to have them check it out. You may have an extended warranty repair condition if the battery is defective.
