iPhone dropped in water I need help.

I went on vacation and my iPhone 5s was shortly submerged in pool water. I had a lifeproof case, but I saw water inside my case. I took it out of the case and wiped my phone down. I was out of town so I was away from my tools. I saw that I have water in my lcd screen. Later during the week I lost function to my home button, but my fingerprint scanner still worked. I noticed my rear camera lens fogged up too, then my touchscreen was losing function. Once I got home I backed up my phone and turned it off begin to opened it. I started to remove any liquid. All the water indicator tabs are red but I don't see any signs of corrosion. I was wondering should I try to replace the LCD or just look for a new phone?

sakeevera, the very first thing you want to do is to not try to restart the phone. This may further damage your phone. You also do not want to try to charge it any further. The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using these guides. Once it is disassembled, you do need to clean it properly. You will need high grade isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Use this guide to see how to clean it. Even so it was written for a 3G all the points are still pertinent to your phone. While you are cleaning it, check for any broken, missing or burned looking components. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate. It is possible that your symptoms are related to corrosion. Hope this helps, good luck.
