Glass not cracked but display behind it is broken. What part?

I lost keyboard function due to a spill and was therefore using a wireless keyboard. Left the computer with the wireless keyboard resting in the open macbook for just a minute and my son closed the lid on the macbook, crushing it against the wireless keyboard. The glass is not broken but the display behind it is a mess. Nothing recognizable on the screen just lots of jagged looking colors, lines. Powers on and I can actually see a faint line moving as I move my finger on the trackpad. Can anyone advise me as to what parts I need to purchase for the fix? I'll also need to purchase a new keyboard and wonder if the cost for fixing both will be worth it.

Thanks for the specifics. Very helpful. I'm going to give it a try. I'll post upon completion. I have absolutely no experience but want to learn and am willing to give it a go.

You will need a new lcd display for the mac but it might be easier for you to buy a complete screen assembly as the lcd unit can be quite tricky to change, i don't know how technologically minded you are so just something to think about.
