My issue is my phone charges with a new battery for a few days but eventually goes dead to where it it'll only work while plugged into the power outlet. I have no water damage to the board but did break my battery connector when replacing a screen and ever since have had issues. The issue is first day itll charge to about 96-98% then by the second day itll be down to like 68% then 34% then 16, 12 8, 2, 1 and then dead.

sorry forgot to add that i didnt resolder the connector down just put it on the battery and screw it down in position i thought since it works why risk damaging something by soldering it back on. As you can tell im not very experienced in these things but am pretty handy with most tools

One more thing how can i test a battery if its dead or just fully discharged?

Thanks so much i will see what i can do about getting the soldering done for the connector and report back i did check for continuity btwn the connector pads and the resistors and all those seem fine i guess maybe im just getting shorts because the connector isnt properly seated will report back once i get that done thanks

So i got the connectors soldered on put everything back together and instead of turning on like it normally does when plugged in it showed the red drained battery sign after a few minutes it started up but stopped charging up what did i do now? It seems its having the same issue as someone else posted before but i cant seem to find the post anymore ie battery only charges while turned off not when on....

sainicrew87, from what it sounds like your battery is not charging. Check on here as well as here to see how to measure an inductor. I think your main issue here is the lose battery connector. I would properly solder it in and then recheck. It is very difficult to trouble shoot a device that is not yet properly assembled. It does have a very large potential for erroneous results. Compared to having to solder the inductors to the board, the battery connector is childs play. Hope this helps, good luck.

Those components aren't likely to

Spontaneously fail. If you see no visible damage you are good on those

If charging isn't working 1.) send it out for battery connector repair. 2.) if not solved replace dock connector.

If you battery middle pins aren't making good contact you won't get a accurate batt pct charge reported.
