My MacBook is taking forever to load. What could I do?

I was updating my iTunes to version 11.2.22 on my Macbook. When it said "You need to restart the computer for the update," I left it to restart, but accidentally, I powered it off when the update was processing. When I started the computer, the spinning wheel took forever, and I can't do anything on it now.

Answer this question I have this problem too

First try starting up in Safe Mode by starting with the Shift key held down.

Then boot up from your original system installation disk (10.6.1). Do this by inserting the disk and holding down the "C" key on start up. Go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities > Disk Utility and see if you can repair the hard drive.

Let us know if you are having any problems accessing the hard drive as this is a cable issue.

ok, it corrupted the operating system, sometimes the mac can fix itself if left on the spinning screen for awhile, it usually means its trying to fix he partition, but if it dident come up after an hour, your going to need to restore the mac to factory settings, yours may be old enough that it will require discs

I’m having this problem too, at first I couldn’t open any applications, so I restarted the laptop, and now it won’t load and it gets stuck on being around 75% loaded.
