iPod recognised on pc but wont turn on

My ipod 4g suddenly stopped working but it is recognised in itunes. what shall i do?

It sounds like either your backlight is out or your lcd is shot. I would try viewing the screen in all different lighting to see if the screen is on but very faint. I have also seen where peoples brightness will get turned down all the way making it almost impossible to see the screen. However if both of these are not the case you will probably just need to get a new screen and follow the ifixit guide on how to replace it!

ok i am aware that the backlight was broken so i fixed it but it is just a black screen. I will have replace the screen then. :/

Hi, roshan. What have you been doing with it before it won't turn on, or, it just as you said suddenly won't turn without any symbol? Some bad apps improper running would lead to iPod won't turn on, so check what apps are running on your iPod. If possible, force quit it and then try to restart your iPod.

Well, if this didn't work for you, you can try other software/firmware restore to reboot your iPod. DFU mode and Recovery Mode are most commonly used in this situation. For my personal experience, I prefer Recovery mode to DFU mode because i can easily force my iPad into recovery mode with the google recommended tool ReiBoot.

I dropped it in water but it was fine after that but then one day it stopped working so i opened it up and thats all
