Hello

I am looking for a company / person based in UK that completed logic board level repairs.

I had a number of iphone logic boards, aprox 20 that needed fixes and were all doable. Sent them to THE COMPUTER ROOM NOTTINGHAM. LEON STACEY. STEER WELL CLEAR. TOTAL COWBOY. Only one worked for a short time then went bad, despite him rekoning that he had fixed 13 of them.

Will take your money & send you back your logic boards but usually with more damage than sent & shilds and other parts missing.

William I can only corroborate the above. I sent a customers phone off with a slight back light issue. One side was slightly darker then the other. Leon took about 3 months to get it back to me after me pestering him weekly. Upon its return the device wouldn't even turn on! I sent it back and only after about 2.5 months he sent it back claiming it worked, but surprise surprise no it didn't. My customer was fuming and so was I. I appreciate the delicate nature of the repairs and the risks involved when conducting this type of repair. It was the the constant lying and timeframe that annoyed me.

Needless to say I will not be recommending him in the future.

These guys have serious skills and clearly do the bga work that is required for replacing ic's. https://www.mendmyi.com/

I strongly recommend against MendMyi - I sent an iPhone 5 to them a few months back to have the charging IC replaced.

Their technicians had torn one of the grounding fingers that connects the logic board to the iPhone frame, stripped out multiple screws by over-tightening and even managed to break off one of the brass stand-offs that screws the motherboard to the chassis.

Rushed, amateur work, and I'm desperately looking for someone competent to carry out SMD work in the UK for the repairs I'm not able to do myself.

I'm sorry to hear that :( We have just started offering U2 chip replacements for the iPad 4, iPhone 5s and 5c with near 100% success. I have a few 5's but I'm still perfecting that one.

In the UK, I have been impressed with James Worrall's answers on the repair forums in the repair community. You can find his company at: https://www.facebook.com/Technology.Repa...

Thanks for that, jessabethany! I've followed them on Facebook, and will give them a go if I have no luck with Leon Stacey, as per con's recommendation above. I emailed Leon and got a pretty rapid response, and after a few back and forth emails he said he's happy to take a look at one of the customer's phones I have in at the moment. He was very friendly, and said he typically charges £45 for SMD work, which is incredibly good value. I love the internet! :)

Hmmnm, I would for sure send bga work to James first based on the questions/answers I see on the pro forums.

Would totally suggest iPhone Repairs Birmingham. They do mail-in phone repairs services, and their pricing is really good. I hope it helps.
