LCD cable connection problem

I and in the middle of repairing my gaems G 155 portable video game screen, when I noticed a problem with the LCD cable connection. I cannot seem to get any video output, & I want to know how to properly connect the cable connectors together. The cable seems rather short, but I want to be able to visually confirm a proper connection. Any advice will help greatly.

The guide was indeed helpful, but I noticed that once I made the connection to the screen, the new screen was incredibly dim, and hardly anything could be seen on it. Other than that, everything else is operational. Is there any explanation as to what I may have done incorrectly? Any answers would be appreciated.
