Known as the ''PS2'', it is a sixth-generation video game console first released by Sony in Japan in March 2000. The United States saw it later in 2000 with the SCPH-30000. Repair of this device requires only common tools, but can get tricky.

No audio or video output

So like a dork I tripped over the controller cord to my ps2 and instead of it pulling out of the ps2 it pulled the console off the shelf. It didn't fall to the floor, but it dangled there for a few seconds by the cords in the back until I could return it to the shelf. The console powers on and the disc tray comes out and everything but when I switch the tv over to the video channel its on there's no picture or sound. The av plug in the back seems a little loose now. Do I need a new av cord or did the plug separate from the board? (I figure its probably the latter.) If it has can this be repaired? Is it even worth it to do so or should I just try to find another ps2 on ebay?

Thanks in advance for your help!

gilded raven, "the av plug in the back seems a little loose now." the only way to determine what is going on is by opening your PS2 up and take a look. Repairability is depending on your findings

I took a look inside and everything seemed securely attached. When my brother got home he offered his ps2 av cord to try and it worked! So now I just need a new cord. :) Thanks very much for your help.
