iPhone 5s screen replacement problem

I have my iphone 5s screen replaced in Shanghai China. This place claimed that they are Apple authorized repair shop. The phone looked the same with the new screen and it worked to get on line or receive text while we were in China. But once I get back to the us, Verizon tower can not recognize this phone even after change a Sim card. Anyone know what is happening?

Thanks

Go to settings and check the MEID number is still the same as printed on the packaging.

Also I didn't know Apple could replace just the screen for iPhone 5s. This cannot be an official apple service. There are official Apple retail stores in Shanghai and I live in Shanghai, you should contact me.

Hi @tomchai , I happen to come across your comment on this post and was wondering since you live in Shanghai, is there any place that you know in Shanghai that is reliable and won't swop out your iphone parts during the repair?

I'm thinking of bringing my not working iPhone 5s with me to Shanghai this week to get it repaired. It's stuck on the connect to iTunes screen on my phone and when I tried to connect it to update IOS on ITunes , it shows an error 27 message.

I'm imagining that the skills and resources in China might be able to save my phone and get it back to working condition again as I need to retrieve the data from my phone, I'm hoping to back up my data once it is working again.

Would you have any recommendations on where to go, or rather which stores can be trusted?

Thank you in advance for your input and help! :)

If it is board level repairs, actually places like Guangzhou or anywhere near it should be better. I never had to do any kind of repairs like this recently so I never asked.

This guy seems to be famous since he has many repair videos posted online.

Phone was probably reported lost or bill was not paid and has been Blacklisted. Will not work on any carrier in USA...Only out of USA will get cellphone service..Maybe they switched the motherboard on you with a blacklisted phone....Check the back of the phone, theres an imei# then go to settings/general/about. Make sure both imei#'s match. If not then Logic board was swapped....

Sorry but I think you have been duped.

The so called Apple Authorised repair centre in Shanghai is a fake.

Apple do not give anyone authorised repair centre status to anyone for repair of mobile devices.

They do have authorised repair centres for the computers but absolutely not for repairing iPhones ETC.

Also just for the record anyone who advertises they use genuine apple parts on iPhones & iPads are lying also Apple do not sell parts to anyone.

They don't do any of this because they make so much money from repairing mobile devices themselves.

Check the imei in settings or call *#06#

check if it's the same as on your iPhone box

Maybe they tried to replace your motherboard with another one which is blacklisted or something like that or you bought the phone from a person who stole it from someone else
