I changed mt housing on my i5s to matte black and gold. Used oem everything but power lock button flex. I seem to have lower cell signal. I do not know why. Is it possible maybe one of the cables aren't pushed all the way into the logic board?

The housing itself is part of the antennas, some screws and very small contact clips or cables are actually RF conductors. Make sure every one of those small parts are installed correctly.
Also check the differences of the original and the replacement housing. In the original one, every screw boss has a surface with anodised colour coating removed, which ensures conductivity. I see a lot of OEM replacement housings simply skip the step of removing excessive coating, you can expect the RF performance go bad on these cases.

I got it preassemble but used oem screws everywhere except for the volume buttons and lock button. Should I change those screws out?
The screws should be OK. Check the housing itself and all the small parts.
I am having this same problem with the 5S. I swapped over the housing and now I get 'no service'. I've swapped many iPhone housings but never had this problem before. The housing I used was a custom one that makes it look like an iPhone 6 'mini'. Do you think this housing could be stopping the signal?
This fixed my problem, i was using an iphone 7 housing on an iphone 6. I put everything back into the oem housing and the original signal strength came back.
i am having same problem with iphone 5s , iphone 5s to iphone 7 mini housing , i am ready check all part ..but still no service and weak connection with wifi..
i thought wifi antenna ,change a new one but still weak connection.. help me pleas
