Display Dead...iTunes recognizes the phone... Yet... Can't Restore..

Guys,

I have 32G/3GS just about 4months old and accidentally dropped in the toilet. Just immediately took out.. dried it by opening the display and finally I am in a situation that the screen is fully black. Don't even know whether my phone is on or not, even if connected to the power. When connected to iTunes, display "itunes found a iPhone in recovery mode" but when I tried to restore and update gives an error.

I tried different Pc, mac, cable all solution. Old version, new version of itunes. But no luck. I just want to know if I replace my LCD kit, will that help to get the display. Is the phone can still be brought back to life??? I went to apple and they refused to accept the warranty service due to water damage. I am kind of challenging myself to fix this phone. Any help would be highly appreciate.

All I need to know is if I spend the $$ to get a new LCD kit will that help? I am not sure if the phone is still good as I can't restore it as well.

Thanks Guys.

on ModMyI, i have read about nasty trick, how to get a water dammaged phone (which is always rejected by Apple) replaced by the same Applestore, which have rejected it before.

there are some sort of moisture sensors, which change the colour from white to red, if they get in touch with water.

guy promoting this trick wrote down, he have succeeded two times.

all he does is using a little bit of bleach, to whiten the sensors.

simple, inexpensive solution. and after that, sensors are white and those "geeks" at Apple, cannot find out any other solution, but to swapp it for the working one.

i guess, if you have it opened already, you can give it a try. it cost you nothing and you can get yourself a new phone instead.

i would say, if it was dropped into toilette (horrible idea, did you wash your hands afterwards :D ), water probably got quite deep inside. both sensors inside dock connector are red now, same with the one in the headphone jack. and if you look inside, you should be able to find more. bleach them all. Just dont use too much. one ear clearing bud should be enough.,..

and let us know, if it worked...

The thing is, with water damage you can never be sure. However it sounds VERY likely that replacing the display will work. Get it here.

he writes down, there is nothing on the display. also, he cannot restore. restoring points on water dammaged board. which in this case, new screen probably doesnt help. and the new board is, as everyone knows, hard to find,,,

It's kind of all a shot in the dark when everything's all dark.
