After replacing battery screen very light with burn mark

Hi all

I've just replaced the battery in my iPod touch. That's all fine now and charges well.

But now the screen is very bleached out. It also has a burn mark where I have not fully fitted the glass back in at that corner. It's very stubborn there.

Have I damaged the LCD and require replacement, or is this a connection back inside the iPod?

This photo shows the result. The touch screen still works but the home button is also not working:

I would say that you have damaged the LCD and will need to replace it. When you take the iPod apart again, make sure all of the internals are back in their proper place. and nothing is bent in the frame of the ipod.

The innards of these devices leave little room for error, even a millimeter of difference can lead to an ipod that won't go back together properly.
