What product is best for removing glue from LCD?

This question is mainly for the adhesive leftover on the LCD after glass removal on phones such as Samsung Galaxy phones and iPhones 5, 5c, and 5s LCDs.

Is Goof off safe? if so is it great at cleaning LCDs?

Should I be looking for an oil based or water based product? Also, which ingredients/chemicals are best at cleaning LCDs and which ones will damage the LCDs?
