start up... media test failer, check cable... have done this...
turn power on and this is what happenes...media test failer. and keeps checking ....i have checked the cable

hkdiscountcabinets, try to start from your CD drive with a bootable CD. Right now it sounds a lot like a bad hard drive. The HP gives you the media test failure because it can not read the hard drive. You can download the service manual from the bottom of this page. Hope this helps, good luck.
