Cannot reset SMC, battery not charging to 100%

I got the battery replaced in my 13" MBP probably about a year ago, and now again it's showing some of the same symptoms.

If I unplug the magsafe power adapter, and plug it back in, no light comes on at all. So I'll try to perform SMC reset - and absolutely nothing happens. I mean that nothing happens when I try to reset the SMC - it just won't go through.

The only way I can get the light to turn back on on the adapter is to take the back off, and disconnect the little ribbon that is plugged in. After about 5 seconds, the light comes on and I'm fine as long as i keep it plugged in.

Also the battery will not charge to 100%, just stays at 90.

Nothing will outwardly happen when the SMC is reset correctly. Here's how to do it correctly:

I've had to reset the SMC before and this "Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC." always happened. It hasn't happened any of these times and isn't fixing the problem.

Run Coconut Battery and let us know your results. Is this an Apple Battery or a knockoff? http://www.coconut-flavour.com

If it's knockoff I'll be very angry - I got it replaced at the Mac Store not too long ago. Long enough that the extra year warranty has already ceased.
