iPod Touch White Screen of Death, Help needed

Hey all,

Recently tried to turned on my iPod to find a white screen staring at me when I pressed the power button. Did a restore via iTunes, did the hold down power/volume/home button reset and still did not work. When I connect to a computer it is recognized as my iPod. When plugged in a charger, it makes the charging noise. After trying the reset via home/power button, the screen turns black and I can't get back to the white screen until after re plugging and waiting.

Please Help anyway you can with advice

Was the iPod dropped prior to this?

If recognised by iTunes then it's a new display you need

alrighty I will most likely send it to my local repair shop to see if I can get a professional's opinion.
