Crud, I just did this one and I think it is built into the board at the bottom of the phone. I'll try and find a picture real fast because I may have it confused with the Moto X I just did.

NOPE, its a ribbon cable that comes off the board.

Regarding the Moto X microphone:

Unfortunately, while it's only a $1.15, it's a $20 shipping cost from HK.

Any other idea's on sourcing? And it's not clear how it comes off/is attached to the board. Any thoughts there? Is it even fixable by a guy at home?

Apparently being doused in peanut oil and then sprayed point blank with compressed air has basically killed mine.
