Replacing my LCD screen on iMac g5

My LCD screen on my iMac g5 is going out. Half my screen is black/grey/blue and half is showing normal pixels. Everything is running normal with the hard drive. When i turn it on only half of my desktop icons appear. Question...Can my LCD screen be replaced or can i connect a 2nd monitor to CPU/Hard drive?

Could also be a bad LVDS cable. Try to connect to an external monitor to confirm that the graphic chip is fine. Changing the screen is not that difficult, only the front bezel catches can be a bit of a pain.
