Why is my newly installed glass screen not responding to touch?

After spending time taking apart my iPod so I could replace the digitizer and glass screen; I installed the new components and put it all together only to find that the device is completely unresponsive to touch. Why would this be? I triple checked connections. I don't see anything wrong.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I should have said this earlier. But I took the screen back off to put the old one back on, and noticed the ribbon cable is torn just a little bit. Is there a way to mend it, or do I need to buy a new screen?

If you have checked connections and still nothing it's a defective part

It's super easy to damage the flex cable during installation. Unfortunately once the flex cable is damaged the digitizer is essentially shot.
