My iPhone 3GS when I call someone I cant hear them?

When I call someone or they call me i cant hear them talking and they cant hear me talking.

WHAT DO I DO???

Did you try to use a headset? if so, and it works, then its the ear piece (If thats what you call it) if it doesn't its most likely the logic board.

If you've opened the phone before then you possibly damaged the #3 ribbon. This will kill your ear speaker. That ribbon is real fragile, any kinks or bends can damage it. How to replace:

Hi,

did anything happen prior, something like it got dropped or it was openend to change something...anything like this? Or did the speaker got mute from one second to the other?

Your mic may be out. You can either order a new one online and replace (requires soldering) it, or just buy a new dock connector and replace that entire component (no soldering).
