2,5" harddisk adapter for 160 GB Toshiba harddrive?

Hi,

My 13" MacBook Pro crashed in a water damage, but the harddrive is still intact, my problem is; getting the data out.

I found the tutorial of replacing the harddrive, but I don't have a new one to replace it in. I already had an 2,5" adapter, but it doesn't fit.

Can anyone tell me which adapter I need to use?

Some more information on the haddrive:

Toshiba, Diske Drive MK1655GSXF

HDD2H75

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You can use an universal SATA/IDE -> USB adapter like this one. I use them all the time. Better than a swiss knife ;-)

You can use this Firewire enclosure

Oh and to clarify one the type of cable that's necessary, it's possible that you have an ATA cable, the drive is SATA.

Okay. I'm form Denmark so it is too exspensive to buy on this site. But any kind SATA External Enclosure will fit it?

by

Yes, any enclosure for a 2.5 in. SATA drive will work. I suggest, that unlike what others are recommending, you make sure it has firewire, as it is significantly faster than USB.

by

Unless you are referring to firewire 800 USB 2 is about the same speed and about half the cost and many times more flexible. I used one of these 2 days ago to make a copy of my main drive using CCC and the process was flawless and the cloned drive funtions perfectly. Ralph

Yeah I'm referring to 800, wayy faster.

Of course when USB 3.0 comes out...

Thank you very much. Amazon ships wordwide, but it is 50% on top of the price.

I just need to get all my files out, I have plenty of disk space other places. So I'll go for at cheap one with USB. But thank you very much for the advises.
