What is this Yellow tape I see?

On the 2nd Gen iPod Touch repair step 32 is found the following statement:

"Use the top of a spudger to remove the yellow kapton tape covering the...."

Can someone tell me what Yellow kapton tape is for and where to buy it?

Its just the tape apple used. You can use electrical tape
