Why is my home button still not working?

I picked up a used iPhone 5 off of CL as a replacement phone and noticed the home button worked only 50% of the time. I ordered a new ribbon cable from here and installation was relatively pain-free.

For the first day it worked like brand new, but the very next morning it was back to only working occasionally. Sometimes I feel as if it has gotten worse.

Any ideas of whats going on or next steps to take?

Hi the little pop up contact on the flex might had gone bad, I would say send iFixit and email and they will probably send you another one. Also make sure the home button itself has the tiny metal round spacer on the back of it.
