Fit a retina screen in MacBook air (13")

Hi, I have searched everywhere to see if I can actually fit a macbook pro retina screen in a macbook air, I don't know if the lid body will allow the display to fit or if the connector and hinges differ, I would appreciate if someone that knows about this could help me. I was waiting for the next macbook air with retina to be released but word on the street says it will be a 12" which is disappointing. Thanks in advance.

Is it the connectors of the screen or the size will not fit the macbook air screen chassis?
