As I am in the US, I’m not as familiar with the A-Class. We only got them a few years ago when Mercedes decided the US market wants a wrong wheel drive baby Benz, and not RWD or AWD. They replaced the CLA sedan here.

When I am researching this sensor, it looks like there are gas and diesel options - we need to know which engine you have to get an exact part for you - US passenger cars tend to be gas most of the time so that doesn't help the limitations I have answering this. Refer to this page to find the part, but you need to select the correct engine based on the MY. Once we know we may be able to find it, but you may be better off waiting for someone to answer who is from the EU/Europe or the UK, who got these first and has more experience with them. I wish I could help you more but our emission standards are way different (stricter in some cases, lax in others) which may impact my ability to answer this as a different part may be needed then in the US, for example.

You buy a water temp gauge and a sending unit which screws in the engine somewhere it can sense the water temp. You can drill out a hole and tap it to install the sending unit in the thermostat housing.
