Turns on when conected to power and only to the charging screen

I have a 3G 16GB iPhone in white. The home button was replaced by a third party and now it does not power up. When connected to a power source the iPhone powers to the charging icon suggesting that it is charging but goes no further than displaying the red part of the charging icon. Thanks, Craig

Hi Madhead, thanks for getting back to me. I have since stripped the iPhone down and discovered that the iPhone is water damaged and requires a new logic board. Just now waiting for the right board to come along and hey presto it will be a worker again. Cheers, Craig
