Sensor/Camera Flex Cable issue?

Has anyone else noticed the issues with the iphone 5c rear facing camera/sensor/ear speaker flex cable and lcd issues. Ive even had a couple phones totally crash on me! but the second you unplug that flex cable everything is working fine! Im hoping someone can shed some more light on this for me as I have been unable to figure out why this is! I see nowhere it could be grounding and no bridging and the only way I have been able to resolve the issue is by changing the flex!

So to all of you DIY'ers out there, before thinking you got a defective part, check it by unplugging that flex cable, i have seen this issue, crash phones, make lcds flicker, lines down the lcd, or the phone will not boot at all!

And to all those out there smarter than me, Please help me get a better understanding of why this is happening!

Answer this question I have this problem too

It appears that the cable gets damaged if thebattery is left in during the repair (and sometimes even if it is unplugged). The proximity sensor seems to be the root of the problem - its fault making the phone unable to decide what condition the screen should be in (on or off). On the 5S this presents as a blue, red or purple screen during boot and the phone will power cycle.
