when turned on it goes to a black screen

when turned on my Toshiba Satellite c855d-s5357 goes to a black screen and says no bootable service- please restart system. I have tried to take battery out and restart but it just goes to the same screen.

Options

Hi,

Go in the BIOS (F2). Check in the "Main" menu do you have HDD/SSD. (If no - you have a problem with the HDD) If yes, go to "Exit" and do "Load Setup Default" and restart the laptop. If you have the same problem, boot you laptop with a bootable CD or USB pen. It's good to check HDD for BAD sectors. If all is OK, boot you laptop with a Windows Recovery CD and try to recover your Windows. Finally, if this not working, install new Windows.
