Can I replace the headphone jack?

Lately my headphone jack seems to be very very spotty. Sometimes when I put in a pair of headphones the volume will be greyed out and it'll say that it only recognizes "digital out". I found MacBook Pro 13" Retina Headphone Jack but it's only for Macbook Retina, will this work for my model?

Not very easily.

Getting the part, de-soldering and soldering it in place is not a DIY sort of project. Soldering logic boards requires lot of practice and special tools.

As a work around buy a USB audio dongle (adapter). It would have headphone jack and USB audio is separate from analogue audio.
