Why my new front camera replacement not working?

So I just recently replaced the screen of my iPhone 5, but in the process of doing so I accidentally tore the copper contacts from the rest of the flex cable. This ended up messing up the earpiece of my phone, but still allowed the front camera to work.

I decided to buy a new flex cable. I was able to fix the earpiece problem but the phone would then not detect the new front camera in any of my apps. Has anyone else had problem like this when installing new flex cables.

I bought my replacement from repair universe.

Answer this question I have this problem too

It could always just be a defective cable. This might sound like a silly question but have you turned the phone off and back on? Sometimes powering the device off and back on is required to detect a new cable that has recently been plugged in. If that's not the case I would imagine it's just a bad cable. I would try another one.
