interal bettery for what?

Jenny Carter, the internal battery powers a chip called the Real Time Clock (RTC) chip. When your device boots up, part of the process is to query the RTC to get the correct time and date. It also helps to keep your setting in memory. Without this battery you would most likely have to reset your playlist last song played etc. Hope this helps, good luck.
