Dissasembly of the front housing for LCD repair?

How do I remove the metal panel in the front housing (picture in link below) in order to replace the lcd touch assembly?

I think you'll find it very difficult to remove the screen without breaking the glass! The best solution is to buy the screen with the front housing attached - now much cheaper than when I did my repair. Aliexpress is better value than eBay.

thx for your reply. it's actually pretty easy. just use a hairdryer. for everyone stumbling upon this post, this video shows what to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IUGFBsT... nevertheless, i second your suggestion to buy a screen with front housing attached. it's not easy to reattach (glue) the screen to the old front housing and i assume my phone is no longer waterresistant.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now but there's no need to remove it. Just use your pry tool to carefully remove the broken glass from the front of your Moto G. Once you've done that remove all the double sided tape from the frame and clean with isoproply alcohol or similar. To fit the new screen you'll need 1 mm wide double sided tape (search for cell phone tape on eBay).

digitaldr: could you elaborate on how to remove the broken glass (my glass actually isn't broken, but the screen underneath is). i can't figure where to start.
