My iPod touch g1 works but the screen is very dim like the backlight/ invert is out. Is this a cost effective repair or do i have to get a new logic board in which case i should get a new iPod?

Often times its just a wire has came undone. Either bring it in or open it up yourself. Apple will often tell you the problem even if they wont fix it.
