Isolate the Back cover of the iPad

Hi,

I want to color anodize my iPad.

In order too do so, I need to isolate the back cover of the iPad from any non metal part (remove all electronics, plastic, buttons, Apple logo etc...) so that I can place it in an anodizing bath. As it needs to be completely immersed in a chemical bath to do the anodizing, I really need to get the aluminium part only!

Do you think it is do-able without any damage, if yes, how hard do you think it would be?

Thank You,

Nils

hi nils,

i think this should be no problem at all - if you look at the pictures you can see the screws and clips - it's from apple, so my first guess would always be: screws, clips and a lot of adhesive ;-)

Thank you for the link.

My question was once you get to the end of this teardown, is it possible to remove the apple logo, and the buttons from the alumnium piece?

Thank you,

Nils

I know from my old 1st gen iPhone the logo was just lightly glued in.
