side volume key not working,after droping the milk on it

I droped hot milk on the phone ,it acted funny the ,tried switch in on sevral time same proplem ,after 2 to 3 hours evry thing working fine exept for side volme key.what old be the proplem,i cant increase or dcresse the volume useing the the key that on the side
