Digitiser replaced - still no touch working (Was Water Damaged)

After an iPad 2 A1395 16Gb White was left in a bag where a bottle of juice popped, everything looked OK, except the lack of touch screen.

Digitizer replaced, but still no change.

Few reseats & restarts.

Checked no cable creases etc.

Cleaned (best I could) the contacts with ISO alcohol.

I had an old smashed digitiszer which I butchered the cable from and made a couple of spacers to increase the pressure in the zif sockets. Still no change.

Any other areas to consider? I'm contacting the company I had the Digitizer from (not cheap eBay item) just in case it's a faulty part.

All I fixit tools and iopener used - made disassembly straight forward with enough patience.

Re-cleaned and reseated and just had some very small movement.

When the iPad restarted the screen "wobbled" and when swiping right 2-3 times you could see the screen moving 3-4mm then it would move albeit slightly by itself.

It was almost like the commands were getting through, but only a fraction of them.

I cannot reproduce this again though.

Thanks for the reply con - got a water damaged iPhone 4 here that is sporadic. Works absolutely fine for 5-10 minutes, then starts glitching and complaining about the temperature. Full strip and ISO alcohol bath and it still does it!

water damage is very difficult to diagnose you just don't no what fuses and components has been damaged on the motherboard. its possible that the screen you got is faulty tho
