Test the lcd after waterdamage on a working iPhone

Hello,

I recently bought a used iPhone 5 with some defects. Later I found out it had waterdamage while before i thought only the battery was broken. The thing I now want to know is: can I take the lcd of the water damaged iPhone and put it on a working iPhone (replacing it) to test if the lcd is broken too or would this do harm to my working iPhone? What would you reccommend?

This should be no problem just make sure there is no corrosion on the lcd or digatizer cables
