My iPhone is just dead...

Hi, My iPhone just died !

Even after charging it for over 12 hours I couldn't start it again. The technicien at Appele asked over 200€ to fix it - claiming there is humidity in the phone & it's not under gurantee........

What can I do ? How can I fix that ?

Thanks for your help,

Avi

I would use a guide from here and disassemble it. the needed parts are listed in the guide.

once the phone is apart, look out for white/green/black stuff that looks "odd".

clean it with ipa and a soft paintrbrush, let it dry and the reassemble it - in case you have a multimeter, measure the battery if it has around 3,7v

markus,

What is the setting I should use for the multimeter to test the battery strength?

Thanks.

you can only measure the voltage - most multimeter have a 20v setting, that would be the right one.

Thank you markus for the answer. I've forgotten to ask what readings would mean the battery needs to be replaced? Also, should the battery be read when it is fully charged, drained, or does not matter?

Thanks again.

it doesn't matter - the voltage should be around 3.7v - if the battery has something like 3.4 - the phone won't start up.

what pins do you touch with the multimeter?
