So it's October 2017, will these methods still work now ? Have a iPod gen 2 Nano, that barely holds a charge anymore. Lost my former pc with everything on it to crash and burn, now have Win 10 laptop and really want to get all the music I spend weeks transferring from cd's I own to my currrent laptop ( and ultimately hopefully to my android device?). I looked 2 years ago for solution after none of my music came up when I installed iTunes on PC, but gave up.

I need to call Apple? Or will these really old solutions work with all the updates to iTunes program. Thanks

so even 8 years later, this answer still helping folks out! I had forgotten I even had this ol ipod nano 2nd gen - even more surprising, it still worked and had some good music on it I lost years ago. First method for Windows worked perfectly for me, I had also forgotten about the hidden files on one of these things being the location of the music, and was driving myself nuts trying to remember how to get that dang music while the nano still worked. Thanks so much! Just an FYI - I didn't try it with a Win10 system, though- I have a desktop Win7 set up in my home network, and used it.

it looks like the owner of the site removed the content, but it's still visible via the Internet Wayback machine from 5/2018 ;)

Using option #1 WORKED for me, though after copying the files off the 'pod and downloading iTunes, i had to manually mark them as "unhidden" so that iTunes would copy them in.

Use wikipedia to figure out your ipod model if you were unsure like i was...

An Apple employee has suggested TouchCopy by Wide Angle Software to me, I'm so grateful otherwise I would have lost my favorite iPod music. Worth checking out... http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchco...

To transfer music from iPod to iTunes or computer, first open FonePaw iOS Transfer on PC. Then, connect your iPod with its USB cable to your computer. Once the device is connected, iTunes may prompt you to sync your device - click "No" or "Cancel. Then choose "Media" > "Music" on FonePaw iOS Transfer, click "export to iTunes library". Done.
