I recently replaced the battery in my Iphone 5. While it is marginally better then the original it only seems to last about 1/2 the time it did when the iphone was new.
Are Ifixit battery's the same quality that Apple installs?

Does it lose battery percentage if you leave it off for a couple of hours? It seems like there are a lot of iPhone 5 post-any repair that end up with a fast battery drain problem. The problem is likely caused by damage to either the usb power ic, or the U2 charging ic---it seems like these components are very sensitive.

yeah they are good quality, it might be you have too many apps running in the background or your phone needs wiping and starting again, try double clicking the home button and slide the apps up to close them and slide to the left and right to select app obviously, hope this helps

There are two possibilities.
One is that your new battery has not been activated.
The Li-ion battery can be activated by fully charge and discharge three times and then reach its best performance. There is no memory effect of Li-ion battery. So you don't have to fully charge or discharge it. It means the battery will be auto activated after several times using.
If you find the battery is still short life after activation, the other possibility is that your new battery is inferior.
