I just pulled a dumb !@# move at the water park. When putting my iPhone 5 back in my pocket after taking pictures, my power port cover on my LifeProof case must have caught on my pocket, and popped open. I TOTALLY flooded it.

I have had zero luck in repairing it, so if you get any more feedback zarealy , please post. I have a tendency to lean towards Richard's answer,,and feel a little low,as I had just paid the phone off with AT&T. :-(

Apple's iPhone is pretty much known for their sensitivity to water especially 5 most likely both your motherboard and battery are fried completely. I would suggest replacing the motherboard and the battery the rest should be okay but to be sure check all the leads of anything that isn't new. Usually after the motherboard has water it won't be able to be brought back to life.

That really isn't true. If you skip the rice, don't try to turn it on, and get your phone to a professional ASAP then most phones can totally be saved.

"Cleaning" an iphone 5 without desoldering the EMI shields is pretty much the same as doing nothing (in my experience.)
